UC major updates

This page is to keep track of major updates past and upcoming, to explain what is their main goal and focus. You can tell what major update a version of UC belongs to simply looking the two first numbers. For example for 0.3.17a it means it's the third update of the beta (0 stands for beta, 1 for release), the 17 stand for the 17th minor change of this third update and the 'a' is to tell it's a hotfix.

0.5 the party update[edit]

This update will focus mostly on non-main party management, and should integrate a better version of Transfer Companions, but also have parties reform automatically after being defeated.

0.4 the governor update[edit]

This update focused on expending governors, adding options to the town menu they are managing but also adding for the first time new templates to the list of wanderers available.

0.3 out of combat update[edit]

This update focused on bringing new non-combat features to the game. The two mains are :

  • The ability for your QuaterMaster to buy food for you each time your party leaves a settlement.
  • The ability to weaken bandits hidout with a new option in the hideout menu.

0.2 NPC wanderers[edit]

This update mostly focused on allowing and encouraging NPC lords, allied and enemies, to recruit wanderers in their clan and use them in their parties with various roles. NPCs were able to select what wanderer would suit in their clan best, equip them and even fire them if they did not need them anymore. This feature was the most controversial added to UsefulCompanions having regularly people asking it to be taken out (and now, people asking it's return). It was removed in 0.3.1 partly cause of complains, but also cause it was making the mod really hard to maintain, most of the feature being broken with the weekly Bannerlord update. With those issues it was wiser to take it out and release it later as a separate mod NPCsWanderers. Those versions are still available to download if you are still playing on an old enough beta or are just curious.

0.1 initial release[edit]

This update focused on the very basics, setting up the most important and easy to implements features. It was mainly various ways to give skill experience inside and outside of main party, that were missing in game (for most still missing) and that prevented players to actually level their companions in non fighting domains. It also changed a few models to be able to make change to party size, carry capacity or even infiltration in town with the focus to make companions skills affect those features. The initial release also was bundled with various bugfixes that were later taken out of UsefulCompanions as they were solved but also as UC was never made to fix bugs at the first place and it was inconsistent to keep them in.
